Getting There

Car
From Pagué, head southwest on the main road (EN1) towards the town of Santo Amaro. After approximately 15 km, you will reach a junction. Take the left fork to continue on EN1 towards the northern side of the island. Continue driving for another 10 km until you arrive at the entrance to the Pico de Sao Tome trail. It's advisable to park your car at the designated parking area nearby. The hike to the summit will take about 2 to 3 hours depending on your pace. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks.

Public Transportation
Starting from Pagué, you can take a shared taxi (a common form of public transport) to the nearest major town, Santo Amaro. The fare is around 500 Dobra (STN). Once you arrive in Santo Amaro, look for a minibus heading towards the northern part of the island. This minibus will drop you off at the trailhead for Pico de Sao Tome. The total journey may take about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on wait times. After arriving at the trailhead, prepare for a hike of about 2 to 3 hours to reach the summit.
