If you are driving from Dakar, take the N1 highway heading east. After about 50 km, you will see signs for La Somone and Bandia Reserve. Turn left onto the D6 road towards La Somone. Continue straight for approximately 10 km until you reach the entrance of the Bandia Reserve, which will be on your right. Be aware that there may be a fee of around XOF 5,000 (approximately $9) per person to enter the reserve.

To reach the Bandia Reserve by public transport, you can take a 'car rapide' (shared minibus) from Dakar to Mbour. Board the car rapide at the Gare Routière in Dakar, and ask the driver to drop you off at Mbour. The fare is typically around XOF 500 (about $1). Once in Mbour, you will need to take a taxi to the entrance of Bandia Reserve. Taxis are available at the Mbour bus station; the fare to the reserve is usually around XOF 2,500 (approximately $4). Total travel time may take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic.
Taxi
For a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Dakar. This option is more expensive, but it provides convenience. The taxi ride will take about 1 hour to reach the entrance of the Bandia Reserve. Confirm the fare with the driver beforehand; it can range from XOF 15,000 to XOF 20,000 ($25 to $35) depending on your negotiation skills. Be sure to clarify that you want to go to the entrance of the reserve.
