Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Dakar city center. Head southeast on Rue de la Republique towards Avenue Lamine Gueye. Continue straight onto the N1 highway, following signs for Mbour. After approximately 50 km, take the exit towards Route de Mbour. Continue on Route de Mbour for about 15 km until you reach Bandia Reserve, which is located at Km 65 on this road. There is a parking area where you can leave your vehicle. Note that there is an entrance fee for the reserve, approximately 5000 CFA per person.
Public Transport (Taxi)
If you prefer public transportation, you can take a taxi from any location in Dakar. Make sure to agree on a fare before your trip; expect to pay around 15,000 to 20,000 CFA for a taxi ride to Bandia Reserve. The driver will take you directly to the entrance, which is located at Km 65 on Route de Mbour. Upon arrival, you will need to pay the entrance fee of about 5000 CFA per person.
Public Transport (Bus)
For a more budget-friendly option, you can take a local bus from Dakar to Mbour. Head to the main bus station (Gare Routiere) and look for a bus heading to Mbour. The fare is typically around 2000-3000 CFA. Once you arrive in Mbour, you will need to take a taxi to Bandia Reserve, which will cost an additional 3000-5000 CFA. The total journey may take longer, but it is a great way to experience local life.
