Car
If you are traveling by car from Timok, you will start on the E75 highway towards Belgrade. After approximately 3 hours of driving, follow the signs for 'Centar' to exit the highway and continue straight. As you approach the city center, look for signs leading to Stari Grad. You can park at one of the public parking lots nearby, like the one at Kalemegdan Park, which is adjacent to Belgrade Fortress. Please note that parking may require a fee, depending on the duration of your stay.
Public Transportation
To reach Belgrade Fortress using public transportation from Timok, first take a bus or train to Belgrade. Buses leave frequently from major towns in Timok, such as Zajecar or Knjazevac, with tickets costing around 500-800 RSD (approximately $5-8 USD). Upon arriving at the main bus station in Belgrade, you can take tram number 2 or 11, which will take you to the 'Kalemegdan' stop. From there, it’s a short walk to the fortress entrance. Make sure to check the tram schedule as they usually run every 10-15 minutes.
Taxi or Ride-Sharing
If you prefer a more direct route, consider taking a taxi or using a ride-sharing service (like CarGo or Bolt) from your location in Timok to Belgrade Fortress. This option may be more expensive, costing around 4,000-6,000 RSD (approximately $40-60 USD), but it offers convenience. Simply provide the driver with the destination: 'Belgrade Fortress in Stari Grad'. Ensure that the driver uses a meter or agree on a fare beforehand.
