If you are traveling by car, head towards the town of Kenema, which is the main hub in Eastern Province. From Kenema, take the road towards the town of Pendembu. Continue on this route for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the village of Tiwai, where you will find signs directing you to the Tiwai Island Wildlife Sanctuary. There is a small parking area where you can leave your car before proceeding to the island.

To reach Tiwai Island Wildlife Sanctuary using public transport, take a shared taxi or bus from Kenema to Pendembu. The journey takes about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the number of stops. Once you reach the village, follow the signs to the sanctuary and take a canoe across the river to the island. The canoe ride typically costs about 5,000 Leones per person.
