From Kenema town, head southwest on the main road (A2) towards Bo. After approximately 20 kilometers, look for signs directing you to Tiwai Island Wildlife Sanctuary. You will need to take a left turn onto a smaller road that leads directly to the sanctuary. The journey should take about 30-40 minutes in total. Make sure your vehicle is suitable for the road conditions, as some areas may be rough.

Public Transportation (Taxi)
In Kenema, find a local taxi or shared taxi heading towards Bo. You can ask the driver to drop you off at the junction for Tiwai Island. Once you reach the junction, you may need to negotiate with a motorbike taxi (okada) or walk the remaining distance to the sanctuary, which is about a 5-kilometer trek. Be prepared for a short hike along the path leading to Tiwai Island. The taxi fare from Kenema to the junction should be around 5,000-10,000 Leones.

Motorbike Taxi (Okada)
If you prefer a faster option from the junction after dropping off from the taxi, you can hire a motorbike taxi to take you directly to Tiwai Island Wildlife Sanctuary. The ride should take about 15-20 minutes. The fare for this ride may vary but expect to pay around 10,000-15,000 Leones.

If you choose to walk from the junction after getting off the taxi, follow the path that leads directly to the river crossing. Once you arrive at the river, there may be a canoe service available to take you across to Tiwai Island. This service may incur a small fee of around 5,000 Leones per person. After crossing, follow the signs to the main entrance of the sanctuary.
