Getting There

Walking
From Kenema city center, head west on Main Street towards the Kenema Police Station. Continue straight for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction at the Bo-Kenema Highway (A11 road). Cross to the opposite side of the highway, where you will find a path leading towards the outskirts of Kenema. Follow this path for about 2 kilometers, keeping an eye out for signs pointing towards Baoma.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Kenema. Start your journey from the city center, cycling along Main Street towards the Kenema Police Station. After about 1.5 kilometers, turn left onto the Bo-Kenema Highway (A11 road). Keep cycling for approximately 3 kilometers until you reach a sign for Baoma on your right. Turn onto this road and follow it for another 2 kilometers until you reach the entrance of Kangari Hills Forest Reserve.

Motorbike Taxi (Okada)
Hail a motorbike taxi (often referred to as 'Okada') from a main street in Kenema. Inform the rider that you wish to go to Baoma. The motorbike taxi will navigate through the city and onto the Bo-Kenema Highway (A11 road). After about 5 kilometers, ask the rider to drop you off at the sign for Kangari Hills Forest Reserve. From there, you will need to walk the last stretch of about 1 kilometer to reach the entrance.

Catch a local bus heading towards Baoma from the Kenema bus station. Buses typically leave every hour. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Inform the bus conductor that you are going to Kangari Hills Forest Reserve. Upon reaching Baoma, disembark and ask locals for directions to the forest reserve, which is about a 1 kilometer walk from the bus stop.
