Bicycle
From Kenema, head north on the main road (Mile 91 Road). Continue straight for about 20 kilometers until you reach the junction near Bo. Turn left at the junction and follow the signs directing you towards Freetown. You'll need to travel approximately 60 kilometers more on this road. As you get closer to Freetown, watch for signs indicating the direction to Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Once you reach the sanctuary entrance, lock your bicycle and proceed to explore the sanctuary.

If you're staying in central Kenema, walk to the main bus station (Kenema Station). From there, ask for a bus going to Freetown. Once you arrive in Freetown, you will need to take a taxi or another means of public transport to get to the Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary. The taxi drivers will be familiar with the sanctuary; just let them know your destination.

Start at the Kenema bus station and board a bus heading to Freetown. The journey will take around 3-4 hours. Once you reach Freetown, you can take a shared taxi or motorbike taxi to Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your ride. The sanctuary is located just outside of Freetown, and the drivers will likely know the way.
