Car
From Port Loko District, head south towards the town of Freetown. Take the main road (A1) and continue for approximately 70 kilometers. Once you reach the outskirts of Freetown, follow the signs towards the ferry terminal, located at the eastern end of the city. Park your car at the designated parking area near the ferry terminal. Note that there may be parking fees, typically around 5,000-10,000 SLL for the day. From the terminal, purchase a ferry ticket to Banana Islands, which costs about 50,000-100,000 SLL depending on the operator. The ferry ride will take approximately 30-45 minutes.

Public Transportation
To reach Banana Islands via public transportation, take a shared taxi or bus from Port Loko to Freetown. Shared taxis can be found at designated taxi stands and the fare should be around 10,000-15,000 SLL per person. The journey may take about 1.5-2 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Freetown, make your way to the ferry terminal, where you can buy a ticket for the ferry to Banana Islands, costing approximately 50,000-100,000 SLL. The ferry will take you directly to the islands in about 30-45 minutes.
