Walking
From Chinatown MRT Station, take Exit A to street level. Walk straight along Pagoda Street, where you'll see various shops and eateries. Continue until you reach South Bridge Road. Turn left onto South Bridge Road and head towards the river. Cross the bridge and continue straight until you reach the junction with New Bridge Road. Turn right onto New Bridge Road, and then immediately left onto Upper Cross Street. Follow Upper Cross Street until you reach the traffic lights at the junction with Clarke Quay. Cross the road, and you will find yourself at the riverside promenade. From there, continue walking along the riverbank until you see the Esplanade Park on your left. The Tan Kim Seng Fountain is located within the park.

If you are at Chinatown Complex, exit the complex and head northeast towards Smith Street. Walk along Smith Street until you reach the junction with Trengganu Street. Turn right onto Trengganu Street and continue straight until you reach the traffic light at the intersection with New Bridge Road. Cross the street and turn left onto New Bridge Road. Continue walking along New Bridge Road, and you will come to the Singapore River. From here, follow the riverside promenade, heading towards the Esplanade. The Tan Kim Seng Fountain is located in Esplanade Park, which you will find on your left side.

From the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, exit the temple and head south on Telok Ayer Street. Continue walking straight until you reach the junction with Boon Tat Street. Turn left onto Boon Tat Street and walk straight until you reach the end of the street. At the end, turn right onto Chulia Street and continue until you reach the junction with North Canal Road. Here, turn left and walk towards the Singapore River. Cross the river using the bridge and walk along the promenade until you reach Esplanade Park. The Tan Kim Seng Fountain is located within the park.
