Getting There

  • Car

    To reach Johor Zoo from Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve by car, exit the reserve and head southeast on the nearest road leading to Jalan Punggol. Continue on this road until you reach the TPE (Tampines Expressway). Merge onto the TPE and follow the signs for the Johor Bahru border. After passing through the Woodlands Checkpoint, continue on the road until you reach Jalan Gertak Merah. Follow the signs to Johor Zoo, which will be on your right. The total drive time is approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic and wait times at the border. Please ensure you have your passport and any necessary documents, as there may be toll charges at the checkpoint.

    To get to Johor Zoo from Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve using public transport, take a bus to the nearest MRT station (Kranji MRT Station) which is about 10 minutes away by bus. Once at Kranji MRT Station, take the MRT towards Jurong East and transfer to the East West Line. Get off at the Woodlands MRT Station. From Woodlands, you can take a bus (Bus 160 or 950) to the Woodlands Checkpoint. After crossing the border into Malaysia, you can take another bus (Bus 1 or 3) to Johor Bahru. Disembark at Jalan Gertak Merah, and you will find Johor Zoo nearby. The whole journey may take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, including waiting times and transfers. Please have some Malaysian Ringgit ready for bus fares and possible entry fees.
