Getting There

• Car

  From Banská Bystrica, take the R1 motorway towards Nitra. After approximately 30 km, exit at the sign for Banská Štiavnica (exit 3). Follow the signs for Banská Štiavnica, which will lead you onto the road 75. Continue on this road for about 15 km until you reach the town center. In the center of Banská Štiavnica, follow the signs towards Počúvadlianske jazero. The lake is approximately 7 km from the town center, and the drive will take about 10-15 minutes. There is parking available near the lake, which is often free but may have restrictions during peak tourist season.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  From Banská Bystrica, take a bus from the main bus station to Banská Štiavnica. The journey takes about 1 hour and costs around €3-€5. Once you arrive at the Banská Štiavnica bus station, look for local buses or taxis that go to Počúvadlianske jazero. The local bus service is less frequent, so if a direct bus does not align with your schedule, consider taking a taxi that will take about 15 minutes and cost approximately €10-€15.

• Bike

  For the adventurous, you can rent a bike in Banská Štiavnica and cycle to Počúvadlianske jazero. The route is scenic and takes you through beautiful countryside. The distance is about 7 km from the town center, and it should take approximately 30-40 minutes to bike there. Ensure you have a bike map or GPS as some paths can be less marked.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct and comfortable option, you can take a taxi from Banská Bystrica or Banská Štiavnica to Počúvadlianske jazero. The fare from Banská Bystrica will be around €40-€50, while from Banská Štiavnica it will be approximately €10-€15. Ensure you agree on the fare before starting your journey.
