If you're traveling by car, start by heading to the town of Dobšiná, which is located in the Slovak Ore Mountains. From Dobšiná, follow the V856 road (Dobšiná - Rožňava) in the direction of Rožňava. After approximately 5 km, you will see signs for Zelená jaskyňa (Green Cave). Turn onto the road leading to the cave, and follow it until you reach the entrance parking area. Note that there may be a small parking fee, typically around 3-5 EUR, depending on the season.
Public Transport
For those using public transportation, take a train or a bus to Dobšiná from major cities like Košice or Prešov. Upon arrival at the Dobšiná train or bus station, you can either walk or take a taxi to the Zelená jaskyňa. The distance from the station to the cave is about 5 km. Be aware that taxis may charge around 10-15 EUR for the ride. Alternatively, check local bus schedules as there might be seasonal services that connect Dobšiná directly to Zelená jaskyňa.
Walking
If you prefer to walk from Dobšiná, exit the train or bus station and head southwest toward V856 road. Follow the V856 road for about 5 km, which will take approximately 1 hour on foot. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for some inclines along the way. This route is well-marked and offers scenic views of the surrounding mountains.
