Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Vysoké Tatry. Head east on the main road, following the signs toward Hrebienok. Continue on this road, and after approximately 5 km, you will reach the parking area near the Hrebienok cable car station. There is a parking fee of around €5 for the day, so ensure you have some coins or a card available. Once parked, take the cable car up to Hrebienok, where you can enjoy scenic views of the Tatras.

Hiking

From the Hrebienok cable car station, you can begin your hike to Ľadový kôň. Follow the marked trail that leads toward the waterfall and then continues up the mountain. The hike will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your fitness level. Ensure you wear appropriate hiking shoes and bring water and snacks. The trail is well-marked, but be cautious of changing weather conditions.

Public Transport

If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from Poprad to Vysoké Tatry. The bus departs frequently, and the journey takes around 30 minutes. Once in Vysoké Tatry, follow the directions above for driving or hiking to reach Ľadový kôň. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may vary, especially on weekends.
