Getting There

Bus

From Žilina, head to the Žilina Bus Station (Autobusová stanica) which is located near the city center. You can take bus number 201 or 202 towards Oravský Podzámok. The buses run approximately every hour. The journey will take about 45 minutes. Once you arrive at the Oravský Podzámok stop, walk straight ahead for about 10 minutes until you see the castle on your left.
Train

Make your way to the Žilina Train Station (Železničná stanica). From there, take a train heading towards Ružomberok and get off at the station called 'Krásno nad Kysucou'. There, transfer to a local bus (look for signs with bus numbers towards Oravský Podzámok). The bus ride will take around 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Oravský Podzámok bus stop, it’s a short 5-minute walk to the castle.
Walking

If you are near the center of Žilina, you can simply walk to the Bus Station (Autobusová stanica) and follow the earlier bus instructions. Alternatively, if you prefer to explore, you can walk towards the Orava River, following the river upstream until you reach Oravský Podzámok, which is about 15 kilometers away from the center. This would take approximately 3-4 hours of walking.
