Bus
From Bohinj, make your way to the nearest bus station, which is located in Bohinjska Bistrica. You can walk there by following the main road south until you reach the bus station. Once at the station, purchase a ticket to Kobarid. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Kobarid, exit the bus and head northeast on Gregorčičeva ulica towards the main square. Continue straight until you reach the Kobarid Museum, then follow the signs to Waterfall Kozjak, which is about a 20-minute walk from the museum. The trail is well-marked, leading you through beautiful scenery until you reach the waterfall.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Bohinj. Start your journey by cycling south towards Bohinjska Bistrica, then follow the signs for Kobarid. The cycling route is scenic and follows the Soča River, making for a pleasant ride. Upon reaching Kobarid, park your bike in the designated area near the Kobarid Museum. From there, walk northeast on Gregorčičeva ulica until you reach the museum, then follow the signs to Waterfall Kozjak, which is about a 20-minute walk from the museum.
Hiking
For adventurous tourists, you can hike to Waterfall Kozjak from Bohinj. Start at the center of Bohinj and head towards the trail that leads to the Soča Valley. Follow the marked hiking trails towards Kobarid. The hike is challenging and takes about 2-3 hours, but you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the valley. Once you reach Kobarid, find your way to Gregorčičeva ulica, and head northeast to the Kobarid Museum. From there, it’s a short 20-minute walk to the waterfall.
