Car
If you are driving from Klagenfurt, take the A2 motorway towards Graz. Exit at 'Ferlach' and follow the signs towards Ferlach. Once in Ferlach, follow the signs for 'Tscheppaschlucht' which will lead you to the parking area near the start of the hiking trails. The parking area is approximately 10-15 minutes from the waterfall itself. Please note that parking may incur a fee, typically around 5 EUR for a day.
Public Transportation
To reach Tschaukofall via public transport, take a train from Klagenfurt to Ferlach. Check the ÖBB (Austrian Federal Railways) website for schedules. The train ride takes about 20 minutes. From the Ferlach train station, you can take bus line 531 towards 'Tscheppaschlucht'. The bus ride is approximately 15 minutes. You will need to pay for the train and bus tickets, which can vary in cost, but typically a one-way train ticket costs around 4-5 EUR.
Hiking
If you are already in the area and prefer to hike, the Tschaukofall is accessible via the hiking trails starting from the Tscheppaschlucht parking area. The trail to the waterfall is well-marked and takes about 30 minutes of hiking through scenic landscapes. Make sure to wear suitable footwear and bring water, as the hike can be moderately demanding.
