Getting There

• Walking

  From the Postojna Train Station, head northwest on Hlavna Cesta toward Tržaška Cesta. Continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Tržaška Cesta. Turn left onto Tržaška Cesta and follow it for approximately 1 km. You will reach a roundabout; take the second exit onto the main road, leading to the center of Postojna. Continue straight for another 1 km until you reach the city center. Look for signs directing you towards Trieste; you will be heading towards the main square. From the square, follow the signs to the bus station, where you can catch a bus to Trieste. The bus ride will take about 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Trieste, follow the signs toward the city center. The James Joyce statue is located on Via Roma, which is a short 5-minute walk from the bus station.

• Bus

  From the Postojna Bus Station, take the bus heading to Trieste. Buses are usually scheduled throughout the day, so check the timetable when you arrive. The journey will take around 45 minutes. Once you arrive at the Trieste Bus Station, exit the station and walk towards the main square. From there, head to Via Roma, which is just a few blocks away. The James Joyce statue is located on Via Roma, and you will easily spot it as it is a popular tourist attraction.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from Postojna to Trieste. Simply find a taxi at the designated taxi stand near the Postojna Train Station or call a local taxi service. Inform the driver that you want to go to Via Roma, Trieste. The taxi ride will take approximately 40 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive, the James Joyce statue will be easily visible on Via Roma.
