Car
From the center of Coastal-Karst, head towards the town of Divača. Follow the signs for the H4 highway heading towards Postojna. After approximately 10 km, take the exit toward Planina. Continue on the road until you reach the town of Planina. Once in Planina, follow the signs directing you to Planina Cave, which is located at the address 6232 Planina. Parking is available near the cave entrance, but make sure to check for any potential parking fees.
Public Transportation
If you prefer to travel by public transportation, start by taking a train from the nearest train station in the Coastal-Karst region to Divača. Trains run regularly from the major cities in Slovenia. Once you arrive at Divača station, take a local bus towards Planina. The bus service may not be frequent, so check the local schedules in advance. After arriving in Planina, walk towards the cave following the signs for Planina Cave, which is located at 6232 Planina. Be sure to check the bus fares and have some change ready.
Bicycle
For the adventurous, consider cycling to Planina Cave. You can rent a bicycle in the Coastal-Karst area. Start your journey by heading towards Divača, then take the H4 road towards Postojna. There are bike paths available, but be cautious of traffic. The ride is about 10 km from Divača to Planina. Once you reach Planina, follow the signs to Planina Cave, located at 6232 Planina. Ensure you have a map or GPS for assistance, as the path can be winding.
