Getting There

    From the center of Izola, head to the nearest bus stop, which is 'Izola, Obala'. Take the bus line 25 towards 'Trieste'. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Duino, Castello'. From the bus stop, walk towards the castle for about 10 minutes, following the signs. The Duino Castle will be on your left.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer to cycle, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Izola. Start by heading north on the coastal path towards Portorož. Once you reach Portorož, follow the signs towards 'Sečovlje' and then 'Duino'. The total cycling distance is approximately 18 km and will take about 1 hour. Upon reaching Duino, follow the signs to Duino Castle.

  • Walking

    For a scenic walk, start from the central promenade of Izola and head towards the coastal path that leads to Portorož. Follow the coastline for about 10 km, enjoying the view of the sea. When you reach Portorož, continue walking towards Sečovlje and then follow the signs to Duino. The walk will take around 3-4 hours, depending on your pace. Once in Duino, the castle is easily visible and just a short walk away.
