Monument Ribe - The Fish: A Symbol of Ljubljana's Rich Heritage

Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Kamnik, head towards the main square (Trg svobode). Once you reach the square, exit towards the northeast, following the signs for 'Ljubljana'. Continue straight along the main road (Miklošičeva cesta). After approximately 1 km, you will reach a junction. Take a right onto Cesta v Gorje. Keep walking for about 500 meters until you reach a bus stop labeled 'Kamnik - Žiče'. Here, you can catch a local bus to Ljubljana. Once on the bus, inform the driver you want to get off at the stop 'Center District'. After about 30 minutes, you'll arrive in Ljubljana. From the bus stop, walk southwest towards the Ljubljanica River. Cross the river using the nearest bridge, and you will see the Monument Ribe - The Fish located in the center district along the riverbank.

• Bicycle

  If you have access to a bicycle, start at the center of Kamnik and head northeast towards the main square (Trg svobode). Continue to follow the bike path along Miklošičeva cesta, which will lead you out of Kamnik. After about 1 km, you'll come to a junction; turn right onto Cesta v Gorje. Follow this road for about 3 km until you reach the outskirts of Ljubljana. You will then be able to connect with the bike paths leading directly into Ljubljana. Keep following the signs towards the city center and the Ljubljanica River. Once you are in the center, navigate towards the river where the Monument Ribe - The Fish is located.
