From Nova Gorica, walk to the nearest bus station, which is located at Avtobusna postaja Nova Gorica. Take bus number 601 towards Piran. The journey takes about 2 hours. Once you arrive in Piran, get off at the last stop. From there, walk towards Cankarjevo nabrežje. Head east on Ulica 1. maja towards Cankarjevo nabrežje. Continue straight for about 400 meters, and you will find the Sergej Mašera Maritime Museum at Cankarjevo nabrežje 3.

If you are already in the center of Nova Gorica, head towards the main square, Trg Edvarda Kardelja. Walk south on Gregorčičeva ulica until you reach the train station. From there, you will need to take a bus or taxi to Piran, as it is approximately 50 km away. Once in Piran, proceed as mentioned above. If you prefer walking through the city, be sure to ask locals for directions to the nearest bus terminal, as walking directly to Piran is not feasible.
