Take the local bus from Portorož to Duino. You can catch the bus at the main bus station in Portorož. Look for the bus heading towards Trieste. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Duino, get off at the stop called 'Duino Castello'. From the bus stop, walk about 10 minutes to reach Duino Castle. Follow the signs towards 'Castello di Duino', which will lead you along the scenic coastal path.

Take a train from Portorož to the nearest train station, which is in Trieste. You can reach the Trieste train station by taking a bus from Portorož. Once in Trieste, catch a train towards Monfalcone or Udine. Get off at the Duino-Aurisina station. From the station, it’s about a 15-minute walk to Duino Castle. Follow the signs leading to Duino, and you will find yourself at the castle entrance.
