Car
If you're traveling by car, start by heading towards the city of Ljubljana. From any point in Posavje, make your way to the A1 highway towards Ljubljana. Once you reach Ljubljana, follow the signs for the city center. Use the GPS or maps application to navigate to Grajska planota 1, 1000 Ljubljana. There is parking available nearby, but be aware that parking fees may apply. Make sure to check for parking regulations.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a train or bus from any town in Posavje to Ljubljana. Check the current schedules on the Slovenian Railways website or local bus services. Once you arrive at the Ljubljana main train or bus station, you can either walk to the Virtual Castle (about a 25-minute walk) or take a local bus (number 6 or 8) towards the city center. Disembark at the stop 'Kongresni trg' and walk up to Grajska planota 1. Be sure to have some coins ready for the bus fare, which typically costs around 1.20 EUR.
Walking from Public Transportation
If you decide to walk from the bus or train station, exit the station and head towards the city center. Follow the signs to Prešeren Square, then continue towards the Ljubljanica River. Cross the river and proceed straight until you reach the foot of the hill where the castle is located. The path will lead you up to the Virtual Castle. It may take approximately 25 minutes of walking, so wear comfortable shoes.
