Walking
From the center of Lata, head towards the main road leading west out of town. Follow the road for approximately 10 minutes until you reach a fork. Take the left fork, which is the main road leading to Honiara. Continue walking for about 30 minutes until you reach the coastal path. This path will lead you towards the northern part of the island. Continue along the coast until you reach a small boat landing area. From there, you can arrange a local boat to take you to Honiara, where the Guadalcanal Memorial is located.
Local Transport
From Lata, find a local bus or shared taxi (often called 'bush taxis') heading towards Honiara. The buses usually depart from the main transport hub in Lata. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they are heading to Honiara. The journey can take about 1 to 2 hours, depending on road conditions. Once you arrive in Honiara, ask the driver to drop you off near the Guadalcanal Memorial, which is located at HX45+W3W, Honiara. It is approximately a 15-minute walk from the bus drop-off point.
