Getting There

  • Walking

    To get to Somali National University from the center of Mogadishu, start at the main market area (Bakarah Market). Head south towards the Jidka Afgooye (Afgooye Road). Continue walking straight along the road for about 3 kilometers. You will pass several local shops and small cafes along the way. Keep an eye out for local signs that might guide you. After approximately 15-20 minutes, you will reach a large intersection. Continue straight at the intersection, and you should see the campus entrance of Somali National University ahead on your left.

    If you are starting from the Mogadishu Port area, exit the port and head northwest towards the main road (Jidka Afgooye). Turn right onto the main road and continue straight for about 4 kilometers. You will encounter several residential neighborhoods and small markets. After about 30-40 minutes of walking, you will reach a large roundabout. Take the second exit at the roundabout to continue on Jidka Afgooye. The entrance to Somali National University will be on your right side shortly after.

    From the Peace Garden in Mogadishu, exit the park and head southeast towards the main road (Jidka Afgooye). Turn left onto the road and walk for approximately 2.5 kilometers. You will pass by several government buildings and local businesses. After about 20-25 minutes, you will arrive at a key intersection where you need to continue straight. Somali National University will be visible on your left within a few minutes of continuing straight.
