    Getting There

    Car

    From the central area of Battlefields, head south on the R33 towards the N3 highway. Merge onto the N3 towards Durban. Continue on the N3 for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the exit for the R617 towards Howick. Follow the R617 for about 30 kilometers until you reach the R103. Turn onto the R103 and follow the signs towards the N3 again. Merge onto the N1 towards Cape Town. After approximately 500 kilometers, take the exit for M3 towards Muizenberg. Follow the M3 until it turns into Rhodes Drive. Continue straight, and you will see the entrance to Table Mountain National Park, where Platteklip Gorge is located. There may be an entry fee for the park, which is generally around R100 per person. Look for parking at the Platteklip Gorge parking area.

    Public Transportation

    Start at the nearest bus or taxi rank in Battlefields and take a taxi or bus towards Pietermaritzburg. From Pietermaritzburg, you will need to take a long-distance bus to Cape Town. Companies like Greyhound or Intercape operate this route. Once in Cape Town, you can take a local taxi or bus to the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway station. From the station, it's a short walk to the Platteklip Gorge trailhead. Be sure to check the bus schedules for both departures and arrivals, as well as the fare prices which typically range from R500 to R800 for the long-distance bus.
