Getting There

  • Car

    From Battlefields, head towards the N3 highway. Take the N3 towards Durban. After approximately 100 km, take the exit for the N1 towards Cape Town. Continue on the N1 until you reach the city of Cape Town. Once in Cape Town, follow signs for Table Mountain National Park. You will need to pay an entrance fee to the park, which is approximately ZAR 150 per vehicle. Once inside the park, follow the signs to Platteklip Gorge. The parking area is located at the base of the gorge.

  • Public Transportation

    From Battlefields, take a taxi or shuttle service to the nearest bus station that connects to Cape Town. Once in Cape Town, take the MyCiTi bus (Route 109) from the Civic Centre to the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway station. From here, it is a short walk to the Platteklip Gorge trailhead. Be sure to check the bus schedule for times and fares, which typically cost around ZAR 50-70 for a single trip.
