Breathtaking Views at Table Mountain Road Viewing Bench

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, make your way to the main entrance of Table Mountain National Park. Once inside the park, follow the signs to the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway. Continue on Tafelberg Road, which leads you directly to the vantage points. The Table Mountain Road Viewing Bench is located a short distance along Tafelberg Road, where you can park your car nearby to access the bench. Note that there may be parking fees, so keep some local currency handy.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Table Mountain Road Viewing Bench using public transportation, take a MyCiTi bus from central Cape Town to the 'Table Mountain Aerial Cableway' station. From there, you can either walk or catch a taxi to Tafelberg Road. Walk along Tafelberg Road for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the viewing bench. Be prepared for some uphill walking. Ensure you check the bus schedules and routes in advance, as they may vary.

• Hiking

  For the more adventurous, you can hike to the Table Mountain Road Viewing Bench. Start your hike from the Platteklip Gorge trailhead, which is accessible from Tafelberg Road. The hike is moderately challenging and will take you approximately 1-2 hours. Once at the top, follow the signs towards the viewing bench. Ensure you have appropriate hiking gear and check the weather conditions before heading out.
