Travel Guide to Bakoven Beach

Getting There

• Walking

  If you're in the central area of Cape Town, start by heading towards the V&A Waterfront. From the Waterfront, make your way to the MyCiTi bus station located nearby. Take the MyCiTi bus route that goes towards Camps Bay. The bus will take you along the scenic coastal road, and you should get off at the stop for Camps Bay. Once you disembark, walk along Camps Bay Drive, heading towards the ocean. Continue along the beachfront promenade until you reach the end of Camps Bay Beach. Keep walking past the beach and take a right onto Kreef Lane. Bakoven Beach will be at the end of this lane, just a short walk away.

• Public Transport

  From the Cape Town city center, you can take the MyCiTi bus towards Camps Bay. You will need to board the bus at the Civic Centre station. Make sure to get off at the Camps Bay stop. From there, walk towards the beach, head along the promenade, and continue until you reach Camps Bay Beach. Once you reach the beach, turn right and walk along the path until you reach Kreef Lane. Follow Kreef Lane until you arrive at Bakoven Beach. This journey offers beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to cycle, rent a bike in Cape Town and head towards the Sea Point Promenade. Follow the promenade along the coast towards Camps Bay. Once you reach Camps Bay, cycle along Camps Bay Drive and continue past the beach. Look for Kreef Lane on your right, and follow it to reach Bakoven Beach. This route provides a pleasant ride with stunning ocean views, perfect for enjoying the coastal scenery.
