Getting There

Car

If you are driving, head towards the city center of Cape Town. From there, take the M62 (Table Mountain Road) which leads directly to the lower cable station of Table Mountain. Be sure to pay attention to parking signs and fees, which typically range from R10 to R40 depending on the duration.
Public Transportation

For those using public transportation, take the MyCiTi Bus service from various points in Cape Town. The closest bus stop to Table Mountain is at the Lower Cableway Station. You can catch the bus from the city center at the Civic Centre Station (Route 107). Make sure to purchase a myconnect card for R35 which you can load with cash for your trip. The bus fare is approximately R11 one-way.
Hiking

If you are feeling adventurous, you can hike up to Table Mountain. The Platteklip Gorge route is the most direct and popular trail, starting from the lower cable station. It is about a 1.5 to 2-hour ascent. Make sure to wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of water. Note that there are no entrance fees for hiking, but you will need to pay for the cable car if you choose to ride down.
Cable Car

Once you arrive at the Lower Cableway Station, you can purchase tickets for the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway. Tickets cost around R360 for adults and R180 for children.
