Train
If you are in Cape Town city center, head to the Cape Town Train Station. You will find it located near the corner of Adderley Street and Strand Street. Purchase a ticket for the train heading towards Strand. Board the train and enjoy a scenic ride that will take approximately 50 minutes. Once you arrive at the Strand station, exit the train and follow the signs towards the Strand beachfront. You will find the beautiful Strand beach just a short walk from the station.
Bus
From the city center, you can catch a bus from the Civic Centre Bus Terminus, which is located on Hertzog Boulevard. Look for the bus routes heading towards Strand or Gordon's Bay. The bus ride will take about 40-60 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Strand bus stop, you will be just a few steps away from the beach and local attractions. Follow the signs to reach the beachfront area.
Bicycle
For those feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in the city center. Head towards the N2 highway and follow the bike lanes towards Somerset West. The ride to Strand is approximately 30 km and will take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your cycling speed. Once you reach Strand, you can park your bike at designated bike racks along the beachfront.
Walking
If you enjoy walking and want to experience the local scenery, you can start from the city center and walk towards the waterfront, then follow the coastline. This is a long walk of about 30 km and would take approximately 6-7 hours. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, and bring water and snacks. Enjoy the beautiful views along the way and take breaks as needed before reaching the Strand beach.
