Getting There

• Bus

  From Cape Town city center, head to the nearest MyCiTi bus station, which is the Civic Centre. Take the MyCiTi bus route 102 towards Stellenbosch. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Get off at the Stellenbosch bus station. From the bus station, walk east on Bird Street, then turn right onto Ryneveld Street. The Village Museum will be on your left at 18 Ryneveld St.

• Train

  Make your way to the Cape Town Railway Station. Board a train on the Southern Line heading towards Stellenbosch. The journey will take approximately 50 minutes. Once you arrive at Stellenbosch Station, exit and walk north along Adam Tas Road, then turn left onto Bird Street. Continue walking until you reach Ryneveld Street, then turn right. The Village Museum will be on your left at 18 Ryneveld St.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bicycle in Cape Town. Head towards the N1 highway and follow the cycle route signs leading to Stellenbosch. The route is approximately 30 kilometers and will take about 2-3 hours depending on your pace. Once in Stellenbosch, navigate to Ryneveld Street and locate the Village Museum at 18 Ryneveld St.

• Walking

  Walking to Stellenbosch from Cape Town is not practical due to the distance (about 50 kilometers), but if you're nearby in a village or suburb, you can walk to the nearest MyCiTi bus stop or train station to continue your journey. Always ensure you're walking in safe areas and during daylight.
