Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards the town of Underberg, which is a common entry point for the Drakensberg region. From Underberg, take the R617 road towards Himeville. After about 12 kilometers, you will reach a junction; turn left onto the R56 towards the town of Kokstad. Continue on the R56 for approximately 20 kilometers until you see the signs for Highmoor. Turn left at the sign, and follow the road for about 10 kilometers until you reach the Aasvoelkrans Cave parking area. Be prepared for dirt roads as you approach the cave.

If you are using public transport, take a bus from Durban to Underberg. Once you arrive in Underberg, there may be local taxis available that can take you to the Highmoor area. Confirm with the taxi driver that they are familiar with the Aasvoelkrans Cave destination. The taxi ride to Highmoor will take approximately 30-45 minutes. Upon arriving, you may need to walk about 1-2 kilometers from the drop-off point to reach the cave, so wear comfortable shoes.
