Getting There

    If you are driving from the central areas of Drakensberg, head towards the R600 road. From the R600, turn onto the R624 road towards Kamberg. Continue on the R624 for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the entrance of Kamberg Nature Reserve. The reserve is located at Highmoor, 3300. Remember to pay the entrance fee at the gate, which is usually around R50 per vehicle.

    If you are using public transport, take a shuttle or a taxi from your accommodation in Drakensberg to the nearest town with bus services, such as Howick. From Howick, you can catch a local taxi to the R624 road. Inform the driver that you are going to Kamberg Nature Reserve. Once you reach the R624, you may need to walk approximately 3 kilometers to the entrance of the reserve, so it’s advisable to arrange for a pickup or a return taxi beforehand.
