Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the town center of St Lucia. Head south on St. Lucia's main road, McKenzie Street (R618). After approximately 3 kilometers, you will reach the junction with R22. Turn right onto R22 and continue for about 5 kilometers. Look for the signs indicating the entrance to iSimangaliso Wetland Park. Follow the road for another 2 kilometers until you reach the View Point parking area. Please note that there may be a conservation fee of about R30 per person to enter the park.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a local taxi or shuttle service from St Lucia to the entrance of iSimangaliso Wetland Park. Local taxis are available from the main taxi rank in St Lucia. The fare typically ranges from R20 to R50 per person, depending on the number of passengers and the distance. After arriving at the park entrance, you can walk or arrange for a park shuttle service to take you directly to View Point. Make sure to confirm the availability and cost of the shuttle service beforehand.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to cycle, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in St Lucia. Follow McKenzie Street south until you reach the R22 junction. Turn right onto R22 and continue cycling towards iSimangaliso Wetland Park. The total distance from St Lucia to View Point is approximately 10 kilometers. Ensure you wear a helmet and follow all traffic rules. There is no additional cost for cycling within the park, but entry fees apply.

• Walking

  For the adventurous, you can walk to View Point from St Lucia. The total distance is about 10 kilometers and will take approximately 2 to 3 hours. Follow McKenzie Street south to R22, then turn right. There are pedestrian paths along the way, but be cautious of traffic. This option is free of charge; however, you will need to pay the entry fee for iSimangaliso Wetland Park when you reach the entrance.
