Getting There

Private Car
If you are traveling by private car, start by heading towards the N7 highway from your current location in Namaqualand. Follow the N7 northbound until you reach the turnoff for the R355 towards Nieuwoudtville. Continue on the R355 for approximately 70 km until you see the entrance to Namaqua National Park on your left. Once inside the park, follow the signs directing you to Skilpad Rest Camp, which is located approximately 15 km from the park entrance. Note that the park is open daily from 07:30 AM to 04:00 PM, so plan your arrival accordingly.

Public Transportation
While public transport options are limited in this remote area, you can take a bus to Springbok, the nearest major town. From Springbok, you may need to arrange for a taxi or shuttle service to reach Namaqua National Park. Once you arrive at the park entrance, you will need to pay an entrance fee (around R50 per person as of the last update) to access the park. After entering, you can either walk or arrange for a shuttle to Skilpad Rest Camp, which is about 15 km inside the park. Be sure to check the bus and shuttle schedules in advance, as they may not run frequently.
