Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from any location in the North West province, start by getting onto the N4 highway towards Pretoria. Continue on the N4 for approximately 90 kilometers until you reach the junction with the N1. Merge onto the N1 towards Cape Town. After about 1.5 hours of driving, take exit 20 for M5 towards Cape Town International Airport. Follow the M5 until you reach the intersection with the N2. Merge onto the N2 and continue driving towards the city center. Take exit 6 for Buitengracht Street. Continue straight on Buitengracht Street, and then turn left onto Parade Street. The We Are Still Here Memorial will be on your right at 4-2 Parade St, Cape Town City Centre.

• Bus

  You can take a long-distance bus from various towns in North West to Cape Town. Companies like Greyhound or Intercape offer services from places like Rustenburg or Mafikeng to Cape Town. The journey can take around 18-20 hours, so plan accordingly. Upon arriving at the Cape Town bus terminal, you can either take a taxi or use public transportation. To reach the We Are Still Here Memorial, you can take the MyCiTi bus from the bus terminal to the Civic Centre station. From there, it is a short walk: head east on Adderley Street, turn left onto Buitengracht Street, and then left again onto Parade Street to reach the memorial.

  If you prefer a more direct route or have arrived in Cape Town by bus or train, consider taking a taxi to the We Are Still Here Memorial. From anywhere in Cape Town, simply provide the driver with the address: 4-2 Parade St, Cape Town City Centre. Depending on traffic, the fare may vary but expect it to be around R100 to R200.
