Walking
If you're starting from the Hatfield area, head towards the nearest main road, which is Burnett Street. Walk south on Burnett Street for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with George Storrar Drive (R21). At this point, you will see signs indicating the direction to Groenkloof Nature Reserve. Continue walking along George Storrar Drive for about 1 kilometer, and you will see the entrance to Groenkloof Nature Reserve on your left. Enter the reserve (note that there's an entrance fee of around R40 for adults) and follow the paths leading to Fort Schanskop, which is approximately 1 kilometer inside the reserve.

From Hatfield, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Burnett Street. Catch a bus heading towards Groenkloof. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as buses may not run frequently. After approximately 10-15 minutes, alight at the stop closest to Groenkloof Nature Reserve. From there, walk towards the entrance of the reserve (approximately 500 meters). Once inside, follow the designated paths to reach Fort Schanskop, which is about 1 kilometer from the entrance. Remember to have R40 ready for the entrance fee.
