If you are starting near the Pretoria CBD, head south on Paul Kruger Street towards Church Square. Continue straight onto Thabo Sehume Road and follow it until you reach the intersection with the R21 highway. Turn left onto the R21 and continue until you reach the exit for Groenkloof. Follow the signs for Groenkloof Nature Reserve. Once you reach the entrance of the reserve, pay the entrance fee and continue hiking up the designated trails towards Fort Schanskop, which is located within the reserve. The trail is well-marked and should take approximately 20-30 minutes to reach the fort.

Public Transport (Bus)
From the Pretoria CBD, take a Gautrain bus (Route G1) towards Menlyn. Disembark at the Groenkloof Nature Reserve stop. After getting off the bus, walk towards the entrance of Groenkloof Nature Reserve. Once you enter the reserve, follow the marked trails leading to Fort Schanskop. It’s about a 20-30 minute walk from the entrance to the fort.

If you're renting a bicycle in Pretoria, start from the city center and head south on Paul Kruger Street. Continue straight as it merges into Thabo Sehume Road. Follow the road towards the R21 and then take the exit for Groenkloof. Once you reach Groenkloof Nature Reserve, park your bicycle at the entrance and proceed on foot. The fort is accessible via marked trails within the reserve, which will take about 20-30 minutes to walk.
