Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, head towards the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway parking area located at the base of the mountain. From the city center of Cape Town, take the Buitengracht Street exit off the N1 highway and follow the signs towards Table Mountain. The parking lot is situated at the Cableway station. Note that parking may incur a fee, typically around R20 to R40 depending on the duration of your stay.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  You can take the MyCiTi bus from various points in Cape Town. The nearest station is the 'Table Mountain Aerial Cableway' stop. Check the MyCiTi bus schedule and route maps to ensure you catch the right bus. The fare is approximately R12 to R30, depending on how far you are traveling from the city center.

• Hiking

  If you are already within Table Mountain National Park, you can hike to the summit via one of several trails, such as the Platteklip Gorge Trail. This is a steep route that takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the top. Ensure you have appropriate hiking gear, plenty of water, and check the weather conditions before starting your hike. There are no entrance fees for the trails, but you may need to pay for parking if you drove to the trailhead.

• Cable Car

  Once at the base of Table Mountain, you can take the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway to the summit. The cable car operates daily, and tickets can be purchased on-site or in advance online. A round trip ticket costs approximately R360 for adults and R180 for children. The cable car ride takes about 5 minutes and offers stunning views of the surrounding area.
