Car
If you're driving, navigate to Congaree National Park by entering the address 'South Carolina' into your GPS. The park is located about 20 miles southeast of Columbia, SC. From Columbia, take I-77 South and then take exit 5 for SC-48 towards Blythewood. Continue on SC-48, then turn left onto SC-601 South. Follow SC-601 for about 10 miles, then look for signs directing you to Congaree National Park. The entrance is marked and has ample parking available. Note that there may be a fee for parking, so be prepared with cash or a credit card.
Public Transportation
To reach Congaree National Park via public transportation, start by taking a Greyhound or local bus to Columbia, SC. Once you arrive in Columbia, you can use the local bus system (SCTAC) to reach the park. Check the SCTAC schedule for the latest routes and times. You will need to take a bus that goes towards the area of SC-601 and then walk or take a rideshare service for the remaining distance to the park entrance. Be aware that taking public transportation may require some additional planning to align with bus schedules, and it might take longer than driving directly.
