Getting There

    From the visitor center at Congaree National Park, head south on the main park road. As you walk, keep an eye on the signs directing you to the Firefly Trail. The trailhead is located approximately 2 miles from the visitor center. Follow the trail markers, and you will arrive at the entrance to Firefly Trail, which is a well-maintained path ideal for hiking.

  • Biking

    If you have a bicycle, you can take the same route as walking. Start from the visitor center and pedal south along the main park road. The biking trail leads directly to the Firefly Trail entrance, roughly 2 miles away. This is a great way to enjoy the park's scenery while getting to your destination.

    If you are driving, start from the visitor center at Congaree National Park. Exit the park by following the signs back to National Park Road. Turn left onto National Park Road, then follow it until it intersects with SC-48. Turn left onto SC-48, and then turn right onto Firefly Trail parking area. There is no entrance fee for Firefly Trail, but remember to check for any parking fees or requirements.
