Walking
Starting from the central area of Beaufort, head towards Bay Street. Walk along Bay Street until you reach the intersection with Ribaut Road (US-21). Turn left onto Ribaut Road and continue walking for about 5 blocks until you reach the intersection with SC-170. At this point, you will need to take a local bus or a taxi to Hilton Head Island.

From the bus stop on Bay Street, take the Palmetto Breeze Transit bus towards Hilton Head Island. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the latest departure times. The bus will take you directly to Hilton Head Island. Once you arrive at Hilton Head Island, disembark at the closest stop to the Coastal Discovery Museum. From there, it's a short walk of about 5 minutes to reach the museum located at 70 Honey Horn Dr.

If you prefer biking, you can rent a bicycle in Beaufort and head towards the Hilton Head Island via the local bike paths. Follow the directions towards Ribaut Road, then take SC-170 towards Hilton Head. Once on the island, use the bike paths to reach Honey Horn Drive, where the Coastal Discovery Museum is located.
