From Big Sioux Recreation Area, take SD-115 South toward Sioux Falls. Continue on SD-115 for approximately 10 miles. Merge onto I-229 South toward Sioux Falls and drive for about 5 miles. Take exit 5 for 57th St and turn left onto 57th St. Continue straight for about 2 miles, then turn right onto S Kiwanis Ave. The Great Plains Zoo will be on your left at 805 S Kiwanis Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57104. Parking is available at the zoo, and there is no additional cost.

From Big Sioux Recreation Area, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to the nearest public transit stop. Once you reach the Sioux Falls public transit system, take the Route 2 bus toward the downtown area. Confirm with the driver that they stop near S Kiwanis Ave. After approximately 30 minutes, disembark at the nearest stop to the zoo.
