From any location in Big Sioux Recreation Area, head towards the nearest main road. If you're near the entrance of the recreation area, take South Dakota Highway 34 (SD-34) heading east. Follow SD-34 until you reach the intersection with South Minnesota Avenue. Turn right onto South Minnesota Avenue and continue for about 2 miles. After that, turn left onto East 49th Street, which will lead you directly to Upper Tuthill Park. The park entrance will be on your right.

If you are using public transportation, check the local bus schedule for Sioux Falls. Board a bus that heads towards the downtown area. From downtown Sioux Falls, transfer to a bus that goes to the 49th Street or South Minnesota Avenue area. Make sure to confirm the bus stops that are closest to Upper Tuthill Park. Once you get off at the nearest bus stop, it will be a short walk to the park entrance.

If you are already inside Big Sioux Recreation Area and prefer to walk or bike, locate the main exits to South Dakota Highway 34. From there, follow the same route as described for cars: head east on SD-34, then turn right onto South Minnesota Avenue, and finally left onto East 49th Street. The park entrance will be on your right. This route is approximately 3-4 miles and will take you through scenic areas.
