Start at the center of Custer, specifically at Custer County Courthouse located at 420 Mt Rushmore Rd. Head north on Mt Rushmore Rd toward E 6th St for about 0.3 miles until you reach the intersection with US-16. Turn left onto US-16 and walk for approximately 9 miles.
