Start at the center of Custer, at the intersection of Main Street and 5th Street. Head east on Main Street until you reach the junction with US-16. Turn right onto US-16 and continue walking for approximately 10 miles. As you approach Rapid City, look for the signs directing you to Downtown Rapid City. Once in downtown, stay on 6th Street until you reach Quincy Street. Turn left onto Quincy Street, and the Rapid City Public Library will be located on your left at 610 Quincy St.

Rent a bike from a local shop in Custer, such as Custer County Cycles. Start your journey by heading east on Main Street. Follow the same route as the walking instructions, taking US-16 towards Rapid City. Biking should take you about 45 minutes to an hour depending on your speed. Once you reach Rapid City, turn onto 6th Street and then left onto Quincy Street. The library will be on your left at 610 Quincy St.
