From the center of Custer, head east on Main Street (US-16) towards the junction with US-16A. It is approximately a 1-mile walk. Continue straight until you reach the junction with US-16A, then turn left onto US-16A. The Sunday Gulch Trailhead is located about 2 miles down this road on your left. Look for the sign indicating the trail entrance.

If you're renting a bike in Custer, start at the corner of Main Street and 5th Street. Head east on Main Street (US-16) for about half a mile until you reach the junction of US-16 and US-16A. Turn left onto US-16A and continue biking for approximately 2 miles. The trailhead will be on your left, marked by a sign for Sunday Gulch Trail.
