    If you're driving from Rapid City, take SD-44 W for about 20 miles. This will lead you directly to Custer State Park. Once you arrive at the park entrance, you can pay the entry fee and then follow the park's scenic routes to various attractions within the park.

  • Car

    From Custer, South Dakota, head north on US-16 for about 7 miles. Look for signs directing you to Custer State Park on your right. Follow the park road for another couple of miles until you reach the entrance.

  • Public Transportation

    While there is limited public transportation directly to Custer State Park, you can take a bus from Rapid City to Custer. Once in Custer, you may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to get to the park entrance, which is about 7 miles away.

  • Car

    If you're coming from Hill City, take SD-87 S for about 10 miles. Then, turn left onto US-16A E and continue until you reach the entrance of Custer State Park.
